SQE now here – book your place

News

From the start of September 2021, and with transition arrangements in place until 2032, aspiring solicitors will all be taking the SQE to make sure that they have reached the same standards, regardless of the training route they have chosen. And with more flexibility in place, people have more choice about how they want to train.

Before someone can sit an SQE assessment, they will need to create their SQE account. Registration is open, and they’ll need to follow these steps:

  • go to the SQE assessment website to sign up
  • verify their photo ID
  • complete a diversity survey
  • tell us about any exemptions (qualified lawyers only)
  • request any reasonable adjustments they need to sit the assessments

We are encouraging candidates who may need reasonable adjustments to make a request as soon as they can. That will allow them to let their training provider, if applicable, know about agreed adjustments - for instance, when doing mock assessments.

Once registration is complete, candidates can now book their place for the first SQE1 in November.
