Introduction
Our Financial Protection Committee is conducting a fundamental review of the Assigned Risks Pool (ARP), the system under which solicitors who are unable to obtain insurance cover on the open market are given temporary cover to enable them to remain in practice.
In this consultation, we are seeking the views of consumers, the legal profession, insurers, and the public on options for radical changes to the ARP, with a view to effecting any changes for the 2010/11 renewal.
